Question : Are these pellets safe to use?
Answer : Yes, they are non-toxic and free from harmful substances.
Question : Can I reuse these pellets?
Answer : Yes, they are easy to clean and dry, allowing for multiple tumbling cycles.
Question : Are these pellets compatible with all tumbler brands?
Answer : Yes, they are compatible with all major tumbler brands.
Question : Can the pellets be sifted from the media and reused?
Answer : Since they float I usually put the batch in a big container of water and scoop them with a sieve. I reuse them only with the same stage or earlier to make sure I don't contaminate a finer stage. I keep them in labeled bags as well again to make sure there are no problems.
Question : How many beads do you use with 3 pounds of rocks, and which stage do you use them with?
Answer : Just enough to fill the drum to 3/4 full, rocks and beads. Sometimes I use them on stages 2 3 and 4.
Question : Would this polish for Aluminium objects well?
Answer : The pellets don't actually polish but work as an aid when tumbling with the polishing medium.
Question : Can this be reused multiple times, or does it break down pretty quickly? Would like to use it for filler with mixed rocks in my rock tumbler.
Answer : I have successfully reutilized Poly Pellets numerous times. I Make sure to rinse them really well and let them Dry before storing them in a plastic jar marked for that step of tumbling and only reuse the pellets in the same step. Your rock results come out better that way and the pellets seem to hold up longer. Of course the more abrasive the step, the less longer the pellets last. As I rotate my pellets up a step as they begin to shrink in size from use, I always save my new pellets for the fourth and of fifth (burnishing) steps. Hope this helps.
Question : How is this different than using ceramic cylinders for filler?
Answer : It is a matter of preference. Ceramic can be washed and reused. Plastic can be reused but must always be used with the same grit as previously used.
Question : Can this be used to work-harden wire jewelry with glass beads?
Answer : I have only used these pellets as filler for my rock tumbler. Sorry I'm not familiar with wire jewelry or glass beads.
Question : Is it useful?
Answer : I have found them useful in several situations. They help fill up the drum if you have fewer stones to tumble, they reduce noise and they're easier on the more fragile stones than say ceramic filler. At times I use both.
Question : I am looking to use this as a sand (bag) filler replacement (not for tumbling or polishing at all). Would this work?
Answer : Yes, you can use it to fill anything but the density is less than sand, so a bag filled with plastic won't be as heavy as the bag filled with sand.
Question : How are these poly beads different from the much cheaper poly beads I buy for crafting?
Answer : We guarantee our plastic is produced in the USA. Pure virgin pellets, no regrind/recycle/reclaim. No odor. Not sure what other brands you are referring to but we guarantee the quality of our product.
Question : Can this be used to fill hacky sacks?
Answer : Yes, it could. I did some lookups and some math and it should give you a sack about 40 grams depending on how tight you fill it. These pellets are small, and may fall through a crocheted or knitted sack. It will need some kind of liner if crocheted or knitted. Have a nice day.
