NO. ITS A STAPLE GUN. USED FOR ROOFING MOSTLY. TO STAPLE DOWN UNDERLAYMENT TO KEEP IT SECURE UNTIL WE PUT DOWN THE SHINGLES.

This Hammer Tacker will drive 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 in. long staples with a 13/32 in. crown.

Will it jam fastening into hardwood ??

Ours doesn't. We install carpet padding every day with no issues. Hope this helps.

Is it good to put luon down

It is always best to refer to the material manufacturer's installation guidelines/specifications for how to best fasten. In this instance that is the maker of your luon. If you are referring to Luan Plywood, our answer is no. Although this tacker will drive a staple into that product with no issues, the staple is not nearly hefty enough to hold that plywood to whatever wooden substrate is below it. These stapler is best used for attaching thin sheeting to plywood, such as felt paper to roof sheeting, builders paper to plywood or even homewrap or polyethylene plastic sheeting.

I want to know what makes this one different than all the others?all have ended in failure. arrow, etc. every one has within weeks begun jamming, etc.

I have 6 of these. And have used over 6 months now. Without and jamming. Make sure you spray wd40 on it everyday before use.
