The entire top is an optional plastic mesh, so in a word 'very'. Helps keep my sweaty gear from sweltering in a closed bag. The top of the bag has two layers, the normal cover, and the mesh cover above it. You can just tuck the normal cover inside the bag and only use the mesh covering.

The Martial Arts bag is made of nylon and mesh and has a ventilated top with optional plastic mesh to keep sweaty gear from getting too hot. It can store shin guards, boxing gloves and MMA gloves but won't accommodate shoes bigger than size 11. It is not machine washable and doesn't stand on its own when empty. Customers have found the bag to be durable and able to hold multiple sets of full sparring gears, training weapons, and boxing gloves along with plenty of room to grow. Some have reported issues with broken zippers and shoulder straps.
