This has an ADHESIVE so it is ironed on. It is not recommended for sewing as the adhesive may cause the needle to become sticky. For sewing patches, it is better to use a SEW ON interfacing with no adhesive.

Is this good for collars?

This is DOUBLE-SIDED adhesive, i.e., iron on so unless you are wanting to stick two pieces of fabric together for the collar, it may not be a good choice. Also, keep in mind that with adhesive, it could make the sewing machine needle sticky, so if you do use it, clean the needle when you are done so as not to put adhesive on other fabric while sewing.
