Answer : Once you cook them the flesh inside is lighter color. However, it is not white. These truly are black beluga, delish

Answer : I use one cup lentils, 3 cups water. Since I always rinse grains, lentils, etc., after cooking, however, it is not important. Add lentils to water, bring to boil. Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.
Question : Do the farmers use glyphosate prior to harvest? I know this is a common practice used to dry the crop for easier harvest
Answer : There are so many different kinds of farmers in so many different states with different rules and regulations, growing so many different crops -- it is impossible to generalize like that.

Answer : I could not know for sure unless I saw it. These are marketed as ORGANIC, so if they were, and you could prove it, that would be big trouble
Question : Why does the black color come off during cooking and then im left with green lentils? I dont believe these are truly black lentils.
Answer : I’ve used two bags and although they aren’t as black as uncooked ones, they are still black. They definitely don’t have the texture of green ones. I only cook them 20 minutes on lots of water and then drain.
