What are the dimensions?

Length is 9 3/4 inches. Width at widest point is 3 7/8 inches.

It says the dimensions are 1x1x1. How big is the hammer really? How long?

The hammer is over 9 inches ( 9.75 maybe ) long. From face of hammer to end of claws ( measured over the curve ) is 4 plus inches ( close to 5 really ).

Does it really cause cancer like one reviewer states it has a warning for this?

Cause cancer??? That I wouldn't know. But I do know that it works well for small projects.

Does this have a magnetic head for assistance starting nails?

No, it's just a very well balanced hammer. You can magnetize it with a heavy duty magnet leaving it attached all night or until use.

As far as I know, that is incorrect. I only received a hammer, and that was in one piece (no assembly required).
