    • Question : How much molding material would I need for a 2.5 inch diameter and 3/4 inch thick round item?
Answer : The best way to know the exact amount of mold maker you need is to fill a suitable container with water with the item you want to mold in it, and measure the water. This will give you the approximate amount of molding material you need. It's recommended to make a little extra in case.
    • Question : Can I make wedding bands with this product?
Answer : For small items like rings and other jewelry, 30A silicone should be used for the mold. You may also use 20A, but ensure the mold is not too thin. This product is 15A.
    • Question : Can the molds be used in an oven for baking clay?
Answer : This product has been used with a torch, but it is not food grade, make sure to avoid making molds that have contact with food and household items. It is not confirmed whether it can be baked in the oven.

    • Question : Can this product be used to create a mold for concrete?
Answer : This product may be too expensive and soft/squishy for something as heavy and large as concrete. It is recommended to use brush-on latex or silicone for detail layers, and fiberglass for a rigid backing for concrete molds.
    • Question : What is the shore hardness of the silicone, and is it soft like Jello?
Answer : The shore hardness depends on how careful you measure, but it is usually between extremes. It feels like a silicone pot holder, softer than a dog chew toy but harder than a stretchy sticky kid's toy. It is in between these extremes, but it varies with measurements.
    • Question : What is the hardness of the silicone?
Answer : The hardness of this product's silicone is 30.
    • Question : Can I use this product to make an adult toy?
Answer : The product can be used for adult toys, but there are better options specifically designed for that purpose.

Answer : The product can be used for low melt alloys that are lead-free. It can withstand a temperature of up to 200C, which is slightly above 400 F. The product's silicone has been tested with a bizmuth alloy at 281F.

Silicone Mold Making Kit Liquid Silicone Rubber 15A Platinum Silicone Translucent Mold Making Silicone for Casting Resin Molds, Silicone Molds 7 oz

This is a silicone mold making material with a shore hardness of 30. It is suitable for making small molds, lead-free low melt alloys, and grips for various objects. However, some customers have complained that it reacts badly with some materials like petroleum jelly and UV resin. They've also expressed concerns that the material does not cure properly and leaves a sticky, tacky finish on their molds. Others have suggested using non-sulphur plasticine to avoid this problem. The mixing process is critical, and it is necessary to measure precisely and stir for five minutes. The product is suitable for creating molds for anything, but it is not the best choice for concrete. It's also suitable for making adult toys, but there are better products on the market. Once cured, the molds are resistant to alcohol and ethanol. The heat rating of the cured mold is around 200C, which makes it suitable for use with a bizmuth alloy. The product can withstand 300F in the oven. As per the reviews, the product is suitable for newbies starting with mold making. However, it's not recommended for experienced users because of its limitations.

    Pros

    • Makes a soft and durable mold

    Cons

    • Can be tricky to mix and measure
    • Does not work well with some materials
    • Leaves a tacky, sticky finish on the molds
    • Unsuitable for making molds of large or heavy items like concrete.
