Definitely! It polishes primarily but I think does harden it as well. Put in tumbler, fill 3/4 with water, add a drop of blue Dawn, and your jewelry. Polish for 30 minutes or so. Be careful if you have soft stones in the jewelry because the steel shot could damage them.

It will certainly polish the metal so depending on the amount of tarnish, tumbling will remove or reduce the tarnish.
