The Hi-Lift Jack Gear Box has received mixed reviews from customers. One buyer found it difficult to mount due to cross bars obstructing its placement, limiting its use for only vertically mounted jacks on bumpers, hoods or racks. The box is relatively small and can only accommodate a few items such as straps and D-rings. A lock is recommended for securing it from thieves when out on the trail. However, the gear box is well-Constructed using thick plastic and is durable. Another customer found it easy to use and appreciated the perfect fit of the box. They even added a hydrophobic sealant to make it waterproof. One downside to the hood mount set up is that visibility is reduced slightly. However, some felt-like cloth can be added to raise the box about 6 mm to spread the weight of the jack off the mounts.
