Question : What is the brush made of?
Answer : The brush is a mix of synthetic and natural fibers, including kolinsky red sable and black sable.
Question : What is the advantage of the quill shape?
Answer : The quill shape allows for longer length and different brush strokes.
Question : Is this brush suitable for watercolor painting?
Answer : Yes, it is designed specifically for watercolor painting.
Question : Are these brushes a good substitute for Kolinsky Sable?
Answer : They are a lower priced alternative to kolinsky sable, especially in larger sizes. The Mix F and Mix B are unique to da Vinci - no other brush manufacturer has anything like it.
Question : What are the differences between Da Vinci Mix F (series 5550) & Da Vinci Mix B (series 5530)? Which one is better?
Answer : The Da Vinci Cosmotop Mix F Brushes use a mix of Kolinsky Red Sable, Ox, and Black Sable Hair, along with some synthetic filaments. This allows for a slightly stiffer feel with more snap and spring, often considered better suited for general watercolor painting and areas of greater detail. The Cosmotop Mix B uses a mix of Kolinsky Sable, Squirrel, Black Sable, and synthetic filaments, which make for a similar brush with less spring but greater water carrying capacity. Both brushes will perform well, but the Mix B will perform better for larger washes.
Question : Can you draw with the silver point in any surface?

Question : Does anyone own the 3/0? (I think it is the same as a 000?) I am wondering how useful it is for anything more than fine lines.
Answer : The 3/0 is my go-to detail brush. About 4mm belly and holds a point well. Softer and thirstier than any synthetic brush. Plus it’s just darn good looking.
Question : Is the handle brown or black? I’m confused by the description.
Answer : Brown wooden handle, very beautiful.
Question : What is the width and length of the sz O brush head alone?
Answer : 6mm wide 19mm long
Question : Please tell me: what is the meaning of these measures? I can not interpret the dimensions. ex 9.2 x 0.7 x 9.2 inch.....
Answer : I think the 9.2 will be the length of the brush, 0.7 is the width of the flat part of the brush part itself. The other 9.2 , I have no clue. You might find the correct dimension on the Da Vinci web site.
