Is this really silver? It looks beige on my phone. Im looking for something silver/grey/white shades, not beige/brown.

Can this be displayed vertically rather than horizontal?

YES! Mine is mounted horizontally :-) The hanging hooks on the piece I purchased came attached for mounting horizontally. They are attached with a Phillips head screw and can be removed and reattached.
