Can this be used outdoors?

I have ten of these pots in use outdoors without problems. Note: If your area is to be exposed to excessive rain, then drill two holes in the pot about one and a half inches up from the bottom to prevent excessive water retention.

Can this be used to grow herbs? Is the plastic safe?

I believe so. Just rinse out first, then plant your herbs.
