- Do not apply clear topcoats over bright white paint, as yellowing may occur due to a reaction to the substrate. Light color paints may also experience yellowing due to topcoat application, but it will less noticeable

General Finishes Editorial Review
General Finishes Pre-Cat Lacquer is a fast-drying, clear spray lacquer that provides a durable finish. It has a one-hour recoat time and sprays smoothly. However, according to some customer reviews, it may not be suitable for certain types of wood surfaces, such as cherry coffee tables. Some customers have reported that the finish was not durable and easily damaged. Additionally, one customer received an expired product with a label from 2018, which is frustrating Considering that Pre-Cat Lacquer has a shelf life of only six months.
