It comes with a stand that you must assemble (just like the rest of the kit!). It’s ok if you finish it nicely. I use it for holding the ship upright while working on it. I prefer a more elegant stand for the completed model but it would work just fine if that is your preference.

Does it come with the rigging?

If by rigging you mean lines, stays and the sort, the answer is yes. Comes in two diameters each for dark brown and tan. Instructions indicate which diameters to use where. If you also mean sails, the answer is again yes.

Instructions for HMS Beagle?

Instructions are in multiple languages, including English. But, as with most model ship kits in my experience, they are minimal. The photos and diagrams work well, especially as the diagrams are 1 to 1 scale. I am not done with this one yet, but it is a pretty good kit. But not for a beginner.

What is the best method for cleaning after it is built?

Cleaning the debris from the build? Use a photographer’s lens bulb and start blowing. Also, a soft (sable or similar) fan-shaped brush for sweeping. Consider investing in a built or purchased display case for long-term cleanliness.

Is this an old product with plastic blocks or a current one with wood blocks?

The model I received was almost all-wood. There are some metal parts that are pre-stamped, molded, or thick metal wires that must be bent. I am still halfway through the build, but so far a very enjoyable one.

The Occre 12005 HMS Beagle Detailed Scale Modelling Kit is a high quality kit that requires advanced building experience. The kit comes with many parts, requires additional tools and glue to complete and the instructions are written in several languages but are minimal. It comes with a stand that requires assembly and can hold finished model. Furthermore, despite having many positive aspects, it is still not a kit for beginners. In general, buyers enjoyed purchasing this product and would recommend it to others.
