I do this for using an iPhone 7+ with a gimbal so that I can use my shotgun mic with the phone. Same holds true for use with this system, but the receiving transmitter is going to be hanging. Not really an issue if you are operating off of a tripod or stationary, but not really for walking around with the phone. Cheers!

The microphone seems to only work if I hold it in front of my mouth. When I clip it to my shirt it is not picking up my voice. Advice?

This is not an omnidirectional mic. It only picks up sound directly in front of the mic. Which makes it very hard when clipped on your shirt because most likely it is pointed away from your mouth a bit.

How long does it take to fully charge the microphone and receiver?

With a 4 amp USB charger, it is around an hour and twice that for a 2 amp charger. ALSO I have used the unit live with a USB power source connected and it works fine. The battery on both units survives about 3-4 hours of continued use which is impressive for a unit with this price point and performance.

Will this work to enhance the audio while recording video on my iPhone? With the adapter obviously.

I keep seeing conflicting answers in reviews. Does this work with iPhone X connecting the receiver to the lightning/3.5mm adapter?

It is not working for my iPhone 7 with the adapter and I will be returning it. It did not work on an iPhone 5 either.
