The Rain Clik will actually do both. It will shut the system down if it starts raining during operation as long as it is enough water. Mine normally will not run for at least 24 hours after a good rain.

how far apart can sensor and reciever be?

Up to 800' line of sight. This varies depending on what the signal is passing through, walls, trees etc. We recommend trying to keep it within 50' of the controller.

Will the transmitter and receiver stay paired up after a power outage or do you have to manually reestablish pairing?

I have to reset from outside every time there's an outage.

Can this be installed with a Weathermatic SL 1600 controller?

If the Weathermatic SL has a 'bypass' or sensor system in place, you should be able to us it. Review the owners manual for the Sensor to see if your controller wiring schematic is compatible. I used the Hunter RainClick on a Rainbird controller. Hope that helps.

Is this sensor compatible with Orbit sprinkler control box model 57874?

Yes, all controllers. They all have the same principal.

Does this work with the solar sync module?

No it does not. The solar sync has its own sensor that reacts to a number of factors including rain and solar radiation. It uses historic numbers for wind, temp etc.Maybe I am missing something. Do you want just a rain sensor that you can use with your solar sync module?

My unit is a Hunter Pro-C residential/light commercial controller. Easy to install and setup using the supplied instructions and the Pro-C manual.
