It is produced in Bargteheide near Hamburg, Germany.

Can you help me decide between cord and tape? Does the tape rewind as easily as the cord? Does it wear as well?

Cord lasts longer and does not stick in the mechanism. The tape twists around and needs to be manually rewound after getting out the kinks. Cord can cut your hand if you try to use your hand to grab it. The tape is suitable for small dogs, but cord is better for active dogs over 20 pounds.

How many pound dog is this rated for?

The leash is 26ft and rated for large dogs up to 110lbs. It is designed to withstand forceful pulling.

Is this shipped by US mail or FedEx?

Shipping carrier is not certain as it varies from Amazon. However, the preference would be to avoid USPS.

How does the brake work? Does it stay locked or has to be continuously pressed?

Both a locking brake and a larger button to lock the leash while pressed are available. The smaller button locks down the larger button. The locking mechanism is not as durable as older models.

Will the tape part mildew if you use it in the rain then let it retract?

There should be no issues with mildew if you rinse the leash with fresh water after getting it wet. If it is used daily, it has a chance to dry out naturally.

I'm looking for a Flexi3, which we've had for years, finally (unfortunately) the recoil spring is getting weak. Any idea if it's still made?

Flexi 3 is no longer in production, and finding a pre-owned one might be challenging. The newer models lack the sturdiness and durability of older models.

I have an older large, is handle and case on the medium smaller than the large or Is the cord just stronger?

It is unclear if the handle and case on the medium would be smaller than the large. However, the leash cord is larger to accommodate bigger dogs.
