From my understanding, connecting a bucket continually delivers water as needed. With this adapter-hose system, do you turn the water on 1-2x/week?

So actually, a pressure is meant to stay on consistently as well. The same with a gravity system (the bucket) is always delivering water to the Blumats. In this case, the pressure system is always delivering water as well, but the Blumats only drip water when they sense that the soil gets dry enough.

I've taken it apart and cleared the obstruction, but can't remember the sequence of reinserting the screen and blue and white inserts.

Yes, it has female hose thread on the input side so you can easily screw it onto a faucet or garden hose. And no, with a pressure system, you can actually go up to the Blumat probes, even 20'-30' up.
