A large will not fit conveniently under the airline seats. The medium will fit, but I don't think a 20 lb dog will fit in it.

The floor of the carrier is rigid.

How does the carrier work for cats?

He seems to be more relaxed and less stressed out in this carrier as opposed to the others I have had and I'm more comfortable using this. All in all, I would and have recommend it.
