The Samyang SY16M-C 16mm f/2.0 Aspherical Wide Angle Lens for Canon EF Cameras is a lens often used for astrophotography. It has a removable lens hood and is threaded for 77 mm filters. It has metal Construction, but some buyers have reported needing to return this lens due to astigmatism or coma. The lens is excellent with regards to sensitivity to light for astrophotography, but it may not perform as well in daytime shots due to an unbearable amount of chromatic aberration. The focus ring is very sensitive to movement, so it needs to be stable. This lens performs well for night/astro/aurora photography, and it is 100% manual. There are ways to combat vignetting, but a high-quality lens may perform better in eliminating vignetting from the start.
