Optolong 2 L-Pro Light Pollution Filter

The Optolong L-Pro filter is designed to cut out light pollution and provide natural colors of the objects in the night sky. It effectively blocks UV and IR along with selected wavelengths in between. Although it cuts out some color and visible light, it works well for broadband targets like galaxies and star clusters. The L-Pro filter is a decent compromise for Bortle 7 suburban skies and produces a slight bluish hue. It is recommended for deep sky imaging from heavily light-polluted areas with one-shot color imaging cameras. However, it may not be the best choice for specialized filters like H alpha. The product is 2 inches with a threaded mount that fits any standard 2" eyepiece or standard 2" barrel extensions. The filter is not meant for attaching to a camera but can be used with a DSLR if the lens is threaded for the 2" filter.
