It is recommended for use with lead dust rather than drywall dust, as the expensive replacement filters are designed for capturing lead based paint. The vacuum can be ordered for and operated with 220 volt electrical service. However, the build quality of the vacuum is not satisfactory, with flimsy latches and a poorly made enclosure. Overall, it may be worth considering other options with better build quality.
