What process is used to decaffeinate the tea?

We use the CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) tea decaffeination method. Tea leaves treated with this method are basically "pressure cooked" with naturally occurring gas. At high pressure and high temperature, carbon dioxide reaches the so called super-critical state where CO2 becomes a solvent and with its small, non-polar molecules it attracts the small caffeine molecules and largely removes them from the tea leaves. Please note there is still a trace amount of caffeine (less than 10 mg).
