Are these formaldehyde free eva?

There is NO formaldehyde in our EVA Foam. Formamide is present which is one reason EVA Foam heatshapes so well and maintains its form after cooling. EVA Foam without Formamide is not easy to work with.

Can you paint this foam with acrylic paint?

Yes, acrylic paint works very well with our EVA Foam. We recommend priming the foam before painting.

How flexible is the material? Is a heating gun necessary? I’m creating a belt for a cosplay

The material is flexible enough without a heat gun.

Is this waterproof or water resistant if used as an outside decoration? Also, what are the best glues to use? Can you use a hot glue gun?

Our High Density EVA Foam is a Closed Cell foam and is waterproof. Most adhesives work with it. Hot glue will work fine, but Contact Cement is also suggested.

would this provide any cushion/softness if wrapped around a fireplace brick hearth (baby proofing)?

Yes, it could add excellent cushioning. When it arrives make sure to air it out (outside) as it may have an ammonia type scent to it.

Our High Density EVA Foam is similar to Depron Foam and is very durable, flexible, easy to work with and maintains shape integrity after heat shaping with a heat gun. It could work for your model airplane purposes.
