The height of the cutting blade is 3 5/8 inches. The setup can be fiddly, as the 45 degree stops are not positive stops and the angle lines are not accurate. The guard does not adequately shield the blade and there is a risk of injury when removing the plastic wrap. However, with practice and proper technique, this trimmer is effective and produces clean cuts. It is not recommended for dense hard woods.
