Yes, the non-magnetic polishing pot is glossy and easy to clean.

So you have to buy the liquid oil and pour it into the oil lamp core? And where do you get the oil?

Yes you have to buy the sterno for heating the pot. It can be purchased at numerous places including Sam's Club.

Is the pot dishwasher safe?

It is and so are the lids, although I usually hand wash because there is always some stuff at the bottom of the dish that needs extra scrubbing. Once I’ve done that, it isn’t too much more effort to just wash it and dry it. We love ours!
