GP-CEP Cable Entry Plate for MC4 Solar Cables is a cable entry point for panels with MC4 connectors to run cables to the charge controller. The plate is 5 inches long and 3 inches high. It is made of a shiny plastic material, which cannot be painted and may not withstand certain cleaning agents. The plate comes without a seal, and butyl putty tape needs to be applied between the flange and the roof surface to make it watertight. Rubber grommets are included to make a watertight seal for 10AWG solar cables. The connectors are mounted on the underside of the plate and have six hold-down holes. Some users appreciated its large area and 6 hold-down holes, and the fact that it has a nice visual appearance. Others found that the seal is shredded after pulling through two feet of cable, that it crumbles easily, or that it has very little surface area on the bottom for sealing into an RV roof.
