This rain chain is an attractive and useful option for those who need to channel water off their roofs. It is a decorative alternative to traditional gutter downspouts. Customers have used it with a copper rain gutter adapter, but it can be hung anywhere for looks. However, the water runoff from your roof will need to be channeled to the chain for it to carry the runoff. The rain chain can be shortened, but it will require cutting and potentially re-soldering on the part of the user. There are no customizations available in terms of length. Any additional length would need to come from an additionally purchased chain. The rain chain is about 8” too short for some customers, who wrote to the seller to purchase additional links, but were told it was not possible. One reviewer suggested a 50% increase in size would create a better chain. Some customers found it small, making it hard to tell how functional it will be. However, it looks classy and works great in heavy rainfall. Other customers found it well made and appreciate that it doesn't catch leaves. It is an expensive fix to buy another chain to make it longer.
