Answer : As you pull rope to lift, the ratchet locks the load at that point. To lower, pull rope slightly to remove load from ratchet, push silver thumb tab with thumb, hold and lower load to desired position.
Question : Does the shipping box have a description of the contents? Does it say 'grow tent' on the outside of the box?
Answer : The shipping container is long gone, but I think they came in a soft pack.
Question : For a grow tent, what size hooks would be best?
Answer : I use Eye bolts and drop small chains down. This way, when later I change things in a room, I don’t have to change my ceiling.

Answer : Each '1 Pack' actually contains 2 bags with 2 pulleys in each bag, for a total of 4 pulleys.
Question : To release, do you have to press the tab? I was thinking of raising this up in the rafters and would not be able to reach the device to release the tab.
Answer : Yes, you need to press the tab to release. One way to reach it in the rafters would be to anchor the unit to a wall and run the rope to the rafters with additional pulleys.
Question : Do the pulleys have a gear reduction or is it 1:1?
Answer : Each pulley is a single ratcheting pulley with a release lever. There is no reduction in weight due to the pulley.
Question : Is there any pulley ratio associated with this product? For example, how difficult is it to lift 150lbs?
Answer : If the pulley is attached to the load, it is half the load weight. If the pulley is attached to the ceiling, the force needed to lift the weight would be 150 lbs.
Question : Will the carabiners clip onto a 3/4” pipe?
Answer : No, the carabiners are too small to clip onto a 3/4” pipe.
