We recommend using a sharpie or a paint pen to mark our charts rather than a wood burning pen. The surface of the chart is sealed with a high quality sealer to preserve the finish and provide an easy marking surface that works great for sharpies and paint pens. Hi - thanks for writing. We recommend a Sharpie or other permanent marker to make your notes on the chart. Some folks also use paint pens to gain a wider variety of colors, but they are slower drying than a traditional permanent marker. Either will work fine with the sealer we use on the chart.
