You are absolutely correct Pyrex's 9800 test tubes which these are do have a rim. Their 9820 culture tubes do not. There were more sellers at one time so it is possible they were selling the wrong tubes against this listing.

These would take rubber stopper sizes 000 or 00. If you go with cork stopper sizes 2 or 3 should work.
