Several of the nozzles have an additional diffuser (not the blue one) that helps break up the straight out pattern. The amount of water coming out of the nozzle only varies with the GPM nozzle though.

What size in inches is the red nozzle (#6)?

All of the nozzles are the same size. The Maxi-Paw 2025A PDF from Rain Bird provides information about the orifices, i.e. the holes where the water comes out. The only differences between the colored nozzles are the two low angle ones, which have an additional screw to diffuse the water. As far as size in inches, they snap into the Maxi Paw sprinkler heads and don't have a specific size.
