Why does it require a battery? my other “eco-drive” citizen watches do not require a battery.

There IS a battery, but it's a specialized, rechargeable type that's only compatible with Eco-drive. Like any other rechargeable battery, it will eventually lose its ability to hold a charge, but probably not for at least 10 years or so of regular use of the watch, and the user can decide at that point if he/she wants to have the battery replaced by a Citizen authorized repair shop.

Define reality ... Lol yea I have it and I get compliments on it all the time, even a guy with an Omega divemaster told me the watch pretty cool, it's my go to watch when I wear brown shoes , khakis/chinos and polo.

The Citizen Eco-Drive Chandler Field Watch has a beautiful and elegant look with its leather strap and simple design. It also features a sapphire crystal that is scratch-resistant. The band size is 9.75 inches and band width is 20 millimetres. The watch is powered by a specialised, rechargeable battery that will last for at least 10 years, and can be replaced by a Citizen authorised repair shop if needed. The product is not shipped to Israel by Princeton Watches. The band of the watch did not last very long for one customer, but otherwise, most customers reported high satisfaction with the quality, durability and comfort of the watch.
