It's a buffing/polishing compound, not a course stone. It's used on a buffing wheel to polish metals, it's like a clay almost. You would want a sharpening stone for knives.

It can. but stick compound is used with a buffer wheel and will likely produce heat, which may soften the glue and prevent a gloss shine.

Can I use to buff out minor scratches on clear glass tabletops and glass stove tops

Havenâ€™t used these on glass before, but I have buffed, and mirror polished steel, and aluminum. Glass might be too hard for these compounds to cut.

Will the green and/or red compounds Leave behind the same color stain? I want to use this for rock polishing.

No It won't the only 1 stone or or gem that it might stain would be a welo Ethiopia just because I t can absorb water and minerals hope that help

No, each color is a differ grit but I don't recommend these. Get the Flitz stuff instead, works much better.

This SCOTTCHEN Buffing Polishing Cutting Compounds 12 Oz. Kit comes in three colors: Green Fine, White Medium, and Red Coarse. The compounds are meant to be used on a buffing wheel for polishing metals to a shiny finish. Although it is not recommended for glass and sharpening knives, it is suitable for polishing epoxy and alloy auto wheels. Customers complained about the small quantity of product received despite being advertised as a 4 oz kit. Some also found the compounds too dry and difficult to use, while others reported a decrease in finish quality compared to other products used.
