Would one use this for car floor carpet?

It likely won’t hold up as floor carpet. If it’s an old vehicle, you could line it with this and add floor mats on top. I don’t see this being good for constant use.

Is the back self-adhesive?

Yes, but it’s not very sticky. It all depends on what you are sticking it to. I used double-sided carpet tape to cover the walls of our SUV vehicle, which has a plastic wall. Word of advice: don't let the adhesive back contact the front. For some reason, it sticks really well to the front side, and it will pull the nap up, making it fuzzy. Hope this helps.

NVX STBXC16 16 sq. ft. Black Subwoofer BoxTrunk Liner Carpet

The NVX STBXC16 trunk liner carpet has received positive reviews so far. Customers have found it of good quality and have been satisfied with its adhesive strength.
