Do you have to use with plaster or will using it with just paint work?

I'm using it to imprint clay on pottery design and it does a beautiful job. Not sure on plaster, but assuming it's trowled on and then rolled for imprint, I think it would work.

How does this work around corners and trim?

Its big and bulky would be difficult to get it into a corner or trim. Like a reg roller it would go into a corner or edge either.

Will this roller work to paint wood? Will the pattern show clear enough?

Probably not. I used a special paint called tambour paint which is very thick and gooey so that's how the pattern showed up nicely.

Would this work to give new look to cement porch and cement driveway.?

You can try, but the pattern will be more subtle because cement is thicker and hard to leave a clear imprint. It has been done but the pattern is subtle.
