If your 12 year old is really into science experiments, it is a lot of fun. It can be enjoyed by younger children too, but plenty of parental involvement is needed to understand the experiments.

I know it’s recommended for ages 8+, but would a 7yo understand and enjoy this?

Yes, a 7-year-old can definitely understand and enjoy this. However, parental involvement is needed for explaining the experiments. Also, the equipment is delicate and breaks easily, so the parents need to be gentle with it.

I am planning to travel with this outside of the united states, is anyone aware of the issues with the customs due to chemicals or any other material?
