It runs very narrow. It didn't fit my husband who wore a 10 1/2 shoe with average foot width. The sides cut up into his foot and it was a bit short.

Can this be worn under men's dress socks?

Commonly worn over any socks, but if the dress socks have enough stretch to them, they could be worn under the socks.

I am a woman size 7.5 should I get the medium size or large??

I wear a size 9 and mine is a medium. In my opinion, the product is not a waste money. It will not improve your walking as much as a sturdier brace, but it does improve my walking slightly and is very easy to get on.

How do I determine what size I need?

I have a size 13.5 foot and ordered the Large hoping it would be large enough. If it is financially possible for you, order all three sizes and then return what doesn't fit.

Can this be easily trimmed? Specifically, I'd like to remove the part that goes up the sides of the heel (like the Ossur light model).

It is flexible, but durable plastic. I think that if you have a drill with a router bit, or a Dremel-type tool, you might be able to trim it, but then you'd need to smooth the edges. I have large feet and had no difficulty with the heel cup. I do recommend wearing this with a sock over the foot and leg to minimize chafing.

In what country it made?

Haven't got a clue & really don't care. For $20 it is far better than the $600 composite one that the hospital slammed my bill with and it doesn't damage my shoes! Only shortcoming is the Velcro on the calf collar sucks. The 'hooks' aren't long enough to get a purchase in the 'fuzz'.
