Yes, I would say so. The Force isn't overwhelmingly powerful in this version (compared to non-Force sensitive classes) and it requires a good investment in experience points to represent how difficult (time consuming) it is to master. They did this aspect well and it encourages diversity in the group (even if you have multiple Force users in a party). I didn't feel that one class was necessarily better than others; the difference between them is really more dependent on how you plan to use them in your story.

Do I need nonstandard dice to play this? Do the dice come with?

No. But if you really don't want to buy dice you can convert your d10's, d8's and d6's. It shows you how in the book. They use different symbols. I highly recommend you buy two to three packs of dice. Only buy them after you give the game a go. I am personally a d20 fan so it was different. I do like how they did the system though and it works very well for the Star Wars storytelling.

Given the relative scarcity of force users in this era, does this sourcebook make multiple force users in a campaign feel in any way strained?

The entire FFG Star Wars system is more about the story and having fun with it. The system itself is balanced very well. Jedi will not stand out as overpowered. They will stand out as the person in front with a glowing sword. For a heroic system, players are remarkably easy to kill regardless of what they are. For all the neat things that one can do with the force, the XP cost to get there is HUGE. And there are tons of really cool things that you can do as a non-force user that you will never find in the force based talent trees because they have cool force solutions to the same problems. It is one of the better systems I have played with. But what it comes down to is the people you are playing with.

Why is this book priced so high here when it is available from the maker for the same price as the other core rule books?

The demand is insanely high for this book right now with a limited supply. This has caused the cost to acquire this book to go up exponentially which has increased the sale price. As a courtesy, I just lowered the price for you 40% for a limited time.

Does this book come with a character sheet?

There is a character sheet template in the back of the book which you can scan and print out. Or you can google a pre scanned one.

Do I need this to play the beginners game?

No. The beginner set has what it needs to play. Though it is complementary, not necessary.
