What is the difference between cool, warm and neutral?

Cools range in any skin color with a cool color hue, warms range with hues that are more on the beige-tan side and neutrals have a yellow type hue. If you have a pink undertone you'll want a cool palette. If you have a golden or tannish type then you'd be warm.

How would this do with very dry skin?

It's perfect for very dry skin. Just mix it with a moisturizer and it gives perfect medium coverage that's buildable without any drying feeling.

I am med skinned - olive with a warm undertone. Does anyone know if I should get the warm #2 or warm #3??

You should go for #2. A medium skin tone could use the deeper shades of #1 or the shades of #2, depending on where they are in the medium spectrum. Definitely not #3!

How is it with contouring?

The shades allow so much versatility to use on any face, making it perfect for contouring.

Is Neutral #1 as light as it appears is the picture? I have VERY light skin and everything turns orange on me..looking for something that doesn't.

If it's turning orange, that means it's oxidizing. If you are truly that pale, I would suggest trying the ultralite palette first. It has two cool shades, two neutral shades, and a warm shade. The formulation might not be the one for you even if you have the right color.

Has anyone tried mixing this with a little moisturizer or primer for lighter coverage? If so how did it go?

It worked well with moisturizer to apply the coverage making it a very nice product. Coverage can be light or buildable to full.

How long does this palette last? Is it pigmented and are the shades as light as they seem in the image?

It lasts for several years depending on usage. The medium middle color is the main skin color for one user, so the rest is cover-up. The shades are lighter on line making it a great, pigmented product. A little goes a long way.
