Is there an on/off switch or just the temperature adjustment dial?

This iron does not have an on/off switch. But we have another kit with the on/off switch which ASIN is B01LVXLMYL.

Can use 240v on it in bahrain ?

No, this soldering iron suits for 110v not 240V.

Is this good for closing silver and copper jump rings in jewelry making?

No. You need to look up Jewelry Soldering Kits. Usually has a torch. This soldering iron will not reach temps high enough for gold and silver.

I'd like to solder oxygen sensor wires for my vehicle, would this be recommended? new to all things solder thanks!

I do not see a problem doing that at all.

What is the thickness of the base of the tips? Will this fit a 6mm tip?

Yes I just measured them and it appears to be 6mm.

Can i use it for sterling silver ?

I do not know why not. You will have to buy silver solder to do that.

If I put this in fire will it burn off?

Will what burn off? Why would u put an electric soldering iron in a fire?
